Sound Construction
The soundtrack for my film opening was created using the GarageBand software on an Apple Mac computer.
- I used the different loops to create a soundtrack like that of other film openings of the same genre that I researched.
- I have used both non-diegetic and diegetic sounds. The diegetic sounds of forest life and cars create a sense of reality for the audience and create and ambiance. The non-diegetic sound creates an mysterious and tense atmosphere within the sequence and adds to the genre of the opening.
- Using the Split and Join tools I can create longer or shorter sequences.
- I can also use the Master Volume tool to change the volume of the sound clips
Feedback and amendments of Rough Cut
The feedback from my teacher on my rough cut was quite positive. However there is lots of room for improvement.
I will need to add and change the following things to make it better;
I will need to add and change the following things to make it better;
- Add a soundtrack to the sequence
- Add in the inter-titles - 'Directed by', 'Produced by', 'Edited by' and 'Starring'
- Add in more SFX
- Shorten the screen time of the 'DEADHOUSE PRODUCTIONS' logo.
Film Opening Construction
I captured, edited and put my film opening together using the Final Cut Express software on the Apple Mac computers.
- For the Fade In Fade Out transitions I used the Video Transitions tool.
- I used the Capture tool to move the selected sequences from the ape to the Mac so I could edit the film.
- I used the distorting Earthquake tool from the effects to cause my film title to rapidly move.
- I could also edit the speed in which the clips moved, which is effective if the zoom was too fast or if I wanted to slow down the fast paced action to increase the audiences interest.

Logo Construction
This is the competed Distribution Company logo. Still using Photoshop, I used the line tool to create the outline of a mountain structure and the font tool to change the font of the writing. I also had to use the Text tool repeatedly to break up the text in to separate lines and split 'Rocky' into two different parts to get the to overlap.
This is the title of the film opening - again I used Photoshop software and 'cooltext.com' to download the font style that I thought would suit this best. I used the red font because it contrasts against the black background and the colour symbolizes blood which is a main theme in a Vampire film.
These are the logos for my production company that I have created using the Photoshop Software. I was able to make this logo by using the line tool to create the straight white lines for the house shape. The width was changeable to make the lines thicker or thinner. I chose to make them thicker because it helped to create a bigger more noticeable logo. To create the fire/smoke in the chimney, I used the spray paint tool going over it in layer so that it looked like smoke and it also created different shades and colour tones.
I then used the Eraser tool to create the cracks in the house shape to create a desolate effect on the house. I then added text, downloading the font from 'cooltext.com' saving it into the computer fonts. I then used the free transform tool to slant the text into the position I wanted the text in.
