Evaluation Question 5 - How did you attract/address your audience?
During my Primary Research in the planning stages of pre-production, I found that my target audience would want to see things such as; discordant, non-diegetic sounds, dark lighting, dark mise-en-scene, and other things typical of the horror genre. They also want mystery and blood as suits the horror genre too.
In my Final Product I have shown these things, mainly in the beginning of the sequence, when the protagonist is in an isolated forest. The dark mise-en-scene of costume and lighting, along with the blood and location put across the horror genre of the product - the blood and location wee based on my research and having found that audiences prefer films of a similar genre in isolated places. The young protagonist was used to help the audience to associate with the character on screen as the audience is within the same age group as the actor. The non-diegetic sound that I have used in the beginning of the product ( 00:00:00 - 00:01:13) and towards the end (00:02:12 - 00:02:18) is discordant and typical of that in other films of this genre, therefore giving the audience what they would expect and enjoy a horror film.

Rough Cut
After receiving feedback from the teacher and my peers I made changes to this rough cut in order to make it meet the expectations of my target audience more. From the feedback, I saw that the lighting of the first half of the sequence was too bright for the genre it was supposed to be, so I used the colour corrector from the Final Cut Express software to make it darker creating suspense and tension. I also added a soundtrack as the original sound was distorted and made the sequence lose its atmosphere. So I inserted a discordant sound similar to sounds used in other products of the same genre. I also used ambient, diegetic sounds such as footsteps, traffic etc to create a sense of realism instead of adding more non-diegetic sounds. The font I used for my inter-titles symbolised blood which also add to the horror genre of the product, the blood splatters used were also to create an understanding of the genre within the audience. I also re-shot certain parts and added more shots to make it longer, let it flow more and to add more mystery to the product.

Evaluation Question 4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my media product would be 16-24 years old, mostly from the emo/indie social groups. They are interested in dark clothes, accessories such as studded belts, piercings, punky -type gloves and punk style hair. They would also like punk/rock genre music from bands such as Paramore, Metalica, My Chemical Romance and Panic! at the Disco. They also like books and films of the fantasy and horror genres that usually contain vampire narratives and so would likely be interested in my product. I have taken my target audience in mind and I designed the costumes around the my research, so the target audience can identify more with the character asthey are of the same social group. They would like to shop at places like Doc Black and drink Monster energy drinks. They usually crowd with people of the same social group, they would usually go to more isolated places or hang out in their rooms. The gender of my audience would mostly be male due to the genre of the product but also female as well because some of the emo girls are interested in horror also.
